Social Responsibility
We contribute to our local and national communities in three ways.
Sponsorship. True to our commitment to learning, we are proud supporters of The Smith Family – Learning for Life program. It is a national educationally based program designed to support disadvantaged Australian children with schooling costs – primary, secondary, tertiary and TAFE. We sponsor two children in their schooling, Dale, in Year 10, and Sada who is completing her third year of university in optometry. We have watched both children develop scholastically and in confidence since 2003 when we first became aware of the program. Whilst we remain anonymous to the students, we congratulate them on their individual successes and ambitions.
Professional Services. We offer limited pro bono services to not-for-profit (NFP) organisations who may obtain meaningful benefit from our services. We provide training, for example, to NFP Boards to inform members of their directorship and corporate governance responsibilities. We conduct workshops where an organisation might benefit by shaping their thinking around strategic and business planning, stakeholder forums, shaping of options for complex issues, decision clarity on matters of corporate concern or executive coaching to select individuals in overcoming professional issues or to drive their aspirational goals.
Presentations and Articles. We enjoy providing services, by request, to NFP organisations including service clubs, social groups, etc in the form of ‘Brown Paper Bag’ lunch presentations or experiential mini-workshops or by writing articles on topics of interest for their newsletters, journals or other publications.
